Hi. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 20 years ago. I was using cpap initially until further sleep studies confirmed I have severe sleep apnea with mainly CSA. I was prescribed cpap initially, then bipap, then back to cpap. A recent sleep study confirmed I have mainly 80% CSA. I finally started using an ASV 3 months ago with some odd results. I wake up feeling more depressed and anxious. The good news is my events have consistently been below 5 and my leakage rate has been in a good range.
is there a transition from using a cpap to now ASV that requires time for my system to adjust?? Using cpap and bipap over the past 20 years did not help me much, yet I did not experience the depression and anxiety I’ve had for the past 3 months using asv. I hope anyone can shed some light on this. I’ve been using the ASV nightly for the past 3 months and don’t understand why I’m feeling this way. It also takes me 1-2 hours to fully awake after sleep. My sleep physician tells me my events and leakage rate are all in an ideal range.
Any feedback on this would be most appreciated. Thank you.
