Hi everyone
I’ve been working on improving my sleep routine lately, and I came across an interesting habit that I didn’t expect to help playing short word puzzle games like letter boxed puzzle before bed.
I know screens are usually discouraged at night, but I noticed something different when I replaced social media scrolling with a calm, focused activity like a word puzzle. Instead of overstimulating my brain, it actually helped me slow down and shift into a more relaxed mindset.
From what I’ve learned, building a consistent bedtime routine and reducing stress before sleep can make a big difference in sleep quality . For me, solving a simple puzzle feels like a “mental wind-down” activity—kind of like reading, but more engaging.
Here’s what I’ve personally experienced:
-
Less overthinking before sleep
-
Reduced urge to scroll endlessly on my phone
-
Easier transition into a sleep routine
Of course, I’m curious if this works for others too.
Questions for the community:
-
Do you use any light mental activities (games, reading, puzzles) before bed?
-
Have you noticed a difference in your sleep quality?
-
Would you consider something like a daily “brain game” part of a healthy sleep routine?
I know everyone’s sleep patterns are different, but I’d love to hear your experiences or suggestions for calming pre-sleep habits.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
