Hot sleeper - does my mattress make any difference?

I feel like I get hot every night, even in winter. I read that certain beds can help, but is that true? Does it even matter?

Hot sleeper here - your body shape, climate, sheets, air movement, and probably a ton of other things can affect whether you sleep hot. At the same time, the mattress is definitely still a big factor. Any mattress that sinks and contours around your body will likely trap heat more. Innerspring and hybrid mattresses are typically more cooling since they have more air circulating.

To echo what @samsok said, your mattress type and build can play a big role in your body temperature. All-foam and memory foam mattresses are the worst culprits when it comes to trapping your body heat. Memory foam is especially troublesome, because it’s made of a higher density polyurethane foam that doesn’t allow as much or any air to pass through.
