Hi Shirley! Thank you for sharing what you’re going through — I’m really sorry to hear that your sleep has been so disrupted and that it’s affecting your life. Stressful events can absolutely impact sleep, and when our nervous system stays “on” for a long time, it can throw off our sleep cycles and lead to ongoing problems like insomnia.

Here are a few gentle suggestions that may help you begin to improve your sleep:

  • Try to establish a consistent sleep schedule even when you’re feeling off. Going to bed and waking at the same time helps regulate your body clock.

  • Create a wind‑down period before bed — 30 ‑ 60 minutes of calm, boring activities (like reading or soft music) without screens or intense thoughts.

  • Address the stress piece: Letting the stress “rest” does take time. Simple mindfulness, breathing exercises, or writing down your worries earlier in the evening can help offload them.

  • Make sure your sleep environment is comfortable, dark, quiet, and cool. Small things like eliminating light leaks, reducing noise, and making your bed inviting can matter.

  • If you’ve been tossing for more than a month and it’s impacting your mood, memory, or day‑to‑day functioning, it’s worth checking in with a healthcare provider or sleep specialist. Stress‑related sleep issues can shift into other patterns that benefit from professional help.

You’re absolutely not alone in this — it’s very common after a stressful stretch. Take it one night at a time, and feel free to reach out if you’d like some guidance on sleep routines or tools that can support you on the way. Wishing you restful nights ahead :light_blue_heart:
