I did a home sleep study and sleep apnea was pretty much ruled out, yet I still wake up feeling worse than I went to bed. I always feel like i have an underlying feeling of sickness or just being “unwell". It’s affecting my entire life, including my job, as my memory, focus, concentration, and ability to comprehend things has decreased to the point of almost non-existent. I’m very irritable and jump down the throats of those I love the most. I do suffer from anxiety and depression and those things may be the cause of the poor sleep but how can I be sure it’s that and not something else?

I went through something similar and it turned out my anxiety and depression were playing a much bigger role in my sleep than I realized, even without apnea. It might be worth seeing both a mental health professional and your primary doctor to rule out things like thyroid, vitamin deficiencies, or chronic fatigue too.
