Pressure Issues with Resmed AIrsense 10

I’m having some weird issues with my Resmed Airsense machine. For a while I was experiencing what seemed like really high pressure, and then last night I turned it on to find the air pressure was extremely weak. I changed the mask, tubing, hose, and filter and it didn’t solve the issue. Does anyone know what this might be, I feel like I’m not breathing well at all when I sleep and I’ve been completely exhausted during the day. Has anyone dealt with this before?

I would start download OSCAR to view the data on your SD card, there you can see the actual pressure levels.

Also check the water tank gasket where the tank connects inside, could be a leak there.

Have you explored your settings, for Ramp function and what your pressure settings are? Those would likely be two separate issues. For the low pressure at start up, what is your start pressure set at, and do you have the ramp feature on? For the high pressure you experienced, what is your setting for maximum high pressure? Regular APAP machines have a pressure range of 4 to 20, which can be altered per your Rx settings, or left to the full range of the machine. If you experience a high pressure that wakes you up, you can simply push the off button, then restart again so the machine restarts at its lower start pressure. If it happens often, you can speak to your physician about changing your highest pressure setting to a lower number that still accommodates your average pressure needs per a machine report. For the ramp function, you can change that yourself in your machine settings menu. It can be set to “auto”, or you can select a specific time range, or turn it off. Also, you can change the start pressure to a number higher than the default of 4, so for example, if your Pressure range setting is 7-15, you could set your start pressure to 7. Then the machine will start at 7 instead of 4, which may be more comfortable for you. If not sure, talk to your sleep clinic RT for help with that. There is also the possibility that the machine is malfunctioning, since you haven’t noticed these issues for a long while, in which case you would need to consult with your sleep clinic, in case you need a replacement machine.
