Waking up with back pain every morning. Wife says its time to buy a new mattress, but they’re expensive. Is it worth it to get one of those adjustable bed frames to help?
I had a sleep study done last week. I didn’t realize that the office doesn’t open until fifteen minutes before the appointment, so I walked something like 10,000 steps around the lot to kill time. When I got there, the tech asked what my pain level was and I said 8/10.
In the morning, when he woke me, he asked me for the pain level again and I said 4/10. Then I realized what I’d just said and gawked. After that, I crossed the street and bought a brand new, extra firm bed on the way home.
I won’t say I’ve been without pain since then, but I can’t NOT remember the last time I woke up without being in agony. Mind you, I still hurt a lot, but in answer to your question, YES. It makes a HUGE difference.
As for the adjustable frames, it depends on your back injury. I have lumbar herniations, so elevating my knees alleviates some of the pain. If you’re dealing with thoracic, I don’t know if it’d matter.
