Struggling to Unwind Before Bed Anyone Using Light Brain Games? Post:

Hi everyone,

Lately I’ve been trying to improve my sleep routine, especially the time right before bed. I don’t have severe insomnia, but I often feel like my mind is still “active” when I lie down, which makes it harder to fall asleep naturally.

I’ve been experimenting with replacing screen-heavy habits (like scrolling social media) with something calmer. Recently, I started playing a simple word puzzle called Letter Boxed. It’s not intense or stressful just enough to keep my brain gently engaged without overstimulation.

Surprisingly, I’ve noticed that it helps me transition into a more relaxed state compared to things like watching videos or reading news. It feels like a middle ground between doing nothing and overloading my mind.

I’m curious has anyone else tried using light mental activities like puzzles, reading, or journaling as part of their wind-down routine? Did it actually help your sleep quality, or did it keep your brain too active?

Also, if you’ve found something that works really well for calming your mind before bed, I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance really appreciate how supportive and informative this community is
