CPAP mask not helping enough

I'm a 30F who has been recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Before I started using CPAP, I needed around 9 hours of sleep and would wake up multiple times throughout the night. I would feel tired during the day but I've just put up with it.

I started a CPAP trial 9 days ago, I’m able to put up with mask, but I really don’t feel like much has changed. I still wake up at least twice throughout the night, and during the day I still feel fatigued and nauseous. I have an another doc appointment coming up but I’m wondering if this is common when you first start. At this point the whole thing just doesn’t feel worth it and I rather go back to not wearing this mask while I sleep. Any help is appreciated.

From my experience, it takes a while to get used to it, 9 days isn’t enough time for this sort of thing. It took me over two months before it really felt like it was ‘working’ for me.

Ditto on the first comment, it took me more like 5 months, I don’t think that’s uncommon at all.

Thanks for the comments, what exactly do you mean by ‘get used it’. I was able to sleep comfortable using the mask after the first couple days, I’m pretty sure I’m using it right.

It’s not just a matter of using it right or being able to sleep with it, it takes a long time to fix the brain atrophy caused by sleep apnea. You’re still feeling the affects of countless nights of oxygen deprivation. Just stick with it, it gets better.
