Nocturnal oxygen desaturation with severe sleep apnea

My wife has been diagnosed with this condition and has been prescribed a CPAP which helps but does not increase her nocturnal blood O2 levels sufficiently. According to her continuous blood oxymeter device, her percent of time while sleeping with O2 < 90% is typically 40% even with the CPAP, much worse without the CPAP. Her sleep test shows her below 88% for 1 hr 23 min. We live in Denver and have found that when she is at sea level her % time < 90% is normal, typically 0 percent. Have others experienced similar oxygen desaturation at high altitude that goes away at low altitude?
