I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I need a sleep product consultant to help me select an appropriate mask. I recieve no assistance from dr or the pharmacy. At this point, all the phamacy wants to do is sell to me. I’m still not sleeping because I can hear myself breathing. I’ve tried three masks and none is working. I consider the appropriate mask tantamont to a prothesis for an amputee. So, Im ready to hire a consultant, even if it means traveling a reasonable distance within the continential USA.
Totally get where you are coming from finding the right mask is life-changing and should not feel like guessing at a store.Might be worth asking here if anyones worked with specific sleep product consultants or CPAP fitting specialists who actually take the time to dial you in.
Unfortunately, mask vendors and manufacturers are only interested in making a sale. The machine only measures usage time. I hope you can confirm that you need the device. I stopped using it after three months because it didn’t help me at all.
Fortunately, a new employee at the pharmacy provided the instructions, time, and information needed. He was disturbed that I was even set up with the initial mask. He showed me areas of the machine that I needed to pay attention to when cleaning to prevent mildew/mold from forming.
I have been helped. Prior to diagnosis and the use of the machine, my entire personality changed. People did believe I was yelling at people, I was. I was easily agitated, sleeping at most 3 hours; lack of focus, etc. Ivwas horrible and in bas shape.
I can tell the difference.
